"Connecting Hearts & Hooves"
Building todays Equestrians and Tomorrows Leaders!
Hello,
Background:
I am Kayla
I have been riding horses since I was 12 years old. When I was 13 years old, I started to show western pleasure, horsemanship, and halter in 4H. I also showed dogs in 4H. I started training horses when I was 18 and traveled all over MN helping people and their horses reconnect. Over the past several years I gave lessons to many adults, children and seniors. I was an adult Volunteer for the 4H club Making Strides and worked closely with both YMCA and Community ED to bring horseback riding programs to the area.
I myself ride western and compete WSCA in local shows have competed in Top Hand Cowgirl Challenge and look forward to exploring more cattle events with my horses.
I have had weight loss surgery and have now been learning not only how to recondition my body, but how to ride in a new body once again. I have found this to not only be challenging and difficult but it also is a task that needs support and motivation from others. I lost my heart horse a few years ago and have since been building my relationships with my new herd.
Education:
I am a graduate of MN School of Business in their Veterinary Technician program. Horses are a passion in my life, and I am passionate on sharing my knowledge of them not only in how to ride but also how to care for them physically and mentally.
I have taken the Crisis Intervention Training at the Department of Corrections. This course has allotted me the privilege to help those who are in crisis and who need immediate help and help them find resources they may need.

I am CPR and First Aid Certified.
Home life:
I live in Coon Rapids with my daughter Celestee my dog Wendy, Cat's Crawley and Darby and our snake Phillip. We live in Coo Rapids with my Boyfriend and his two children.
We enjoy camping, trail riding and exploring Minnesota.
 Hello, my name is Celeste,
A little about me:
I have been riding since I was around 8 years old.
I ride in western discipline and have shown in 4H as well as show WSCA. I show Halter, Showmanship, Western pleasure, Trail, Horsemanship, Barrels, Poles, Jumping figure 8, Keyhole, 4 in a line, and Music in motion.
My favorite class was music in motion because it blends the skills of showmanship and horsemanship to create a dance with the horse and song. You choreograph a pattern to ride your horse with and even dress yourself and horse in costume!
I was President of Making Strides for 3 years voted by my peers. As a 4H member we conducted our own meetings and organized out own events including fun shows. We participated as a group in local shows. As a club we showed at County Fair and reached out to the community with our horses.

I also was alongside my mother when it came to helping training horses as well as lessons for several years. I have been training horses since I was fairly young and have been able to help many horses back from abuse and neglect. I would say that I have been able to take a horse that has faced abuse and bring it back into the light and show it the joy of partnering with humans again. I currently have bene rehabbing our latest horse.

I love helping connecting people and horses through ways of communication without words. Horses have so much to teach and learning how to hear is the journey I enjoy teaching others.
So many people could benefit from learning to speak with their bodies instead of their mouths and I truly believe that is a skill that horses help us master over time.
My future goals are to be able to help others find healing and growth through working with horses. I myself have had to do a lot of self-healing through the traumas that I have had to endure as a child and horses have always been a constant therapy for me. I found when I was in therapy, I was not able to truly open up to the person sitting across from me in the room, as I could only truly open up when I was around the horses and riding. I find that equine therapy is something that I not only found beneficial for myself, but I have seen it work in our students as well.

I also want to work with horses to get them where they need to be for their future homes. I pride myself in helping find horses that might be once overlooked, passed over, and shine them up. There are so many horses that not only just need a second chance but just need a reeducation. An opportunity to learn that not all people will treat them the way that they have been treated in the past. This is something that we have prided ourselves in doing since the beginning of KS Riding. We not only find these horses and rehab them, but sometimes we offer them to the public and they go on to become great members of the community in another aspect. This makes room for us to inevitably help another horse in need.
